GERMANY: FUSSEN

NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE

This photo was snapped from the Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge). Quick question: What do folks in Germany call Mad King Ludwig II? The answer: King Ludwig the II.
King Ludwig II spent his childhood at this beautiful castle, Hohenschwangau Castle.

After the bus dropped us off, we took a walk along this lovely trail that made me feel like I was walking through a fairytale. The tree roots add such a wonderful touch to this photo, giving it some real texture.

Got tickets to Neuschwanstein! The tour was so good, it definitely left me wanting more. Our local guide was quite the character—reminded me a bit of Lurch from The Addams Family!

Bus tickets were purchased so we could hop on the bus and head up to the entrance of Neuschwanstein. Notice the stones on the roof, I think they are there for protection from the elements.
Entertainment in Fussen -

After the excitement of riding the luge and exploring Neuschwanstein, David and I decided to take a little walk and enjoy some nature in Fussen. The water in this lake is stunningly blue. The color is primarily caused by suspended glacial flour, microscopic rock particles produced by glaciers grinding against bedrock. This reflects blue and green light.
Please enjoy the entertainment from our night in Fussen, Germay.
This is Frank and Gary from Austria. We laughed solidly for 45 minutes!
