For 32 years, August was my sacred time. A time fueled by hope and dedication, a time spent pouring my heart into preparing my classroom for the upcoming school year.  This year, instead of my usual preparations, I dedicated the month of August to preparing for an extraordinary adventure: The Rick Steves' Best of Europe in 14 Days Tour (with extra days to soak it all in). For decades, I poured my soul into teaching special education. Passionately guiding my students in Literacy, Social Studies, and Consumer Finance, wherever I was positioned to teach.  My family is the center of my life. I have a  daughter, Nicole, a son, Epke, and four step-children: Amanda, Christina, Matt, and Sarah. We are blessed with three grandchildren, and each of them lights up our lives. David and I adore our playful puppies, Halo and Maui! They are our little bundles of joy. Given all of these points, it was time to take time away from the stress of daily American life. Personally, this tour was more than just sightseeing. It was a celebration of my retirement, a soulful quest to embrace new cultures, and an opportunity to deepen the love I share with David.  It was a chance to fill my soul with passion, adventure, and connection - an unforgettable tour I will cherish forever.
