BEAUNE, FRANCE
Salut mes amis! Beaune is a quintessential "French" country town. It was a quick overnight stay. The vocabulary word from this stop was "ramparts". Ramparts are defensive walls of a castle or walled city, having a broad top with a walkway and typically a stone parapet. (Oxford Languages) Experience the ramparts of Beaune. Now I know what it means in our American "The Star Spangled Banner".

Did you say, "Wine?"
When we arrived in Beaune, we headed straight to the wine tour at Bouchard Aine & Fils. We picked up some fun and interesting tidbits about the wines and even learned about the potential tariffs if we buy them in the US. No worries though—I found all of them on www.wine.com after we got back home! Not so sure about the tariffs.
Smallest Bathroom on Tour
We stayed at the Ibis Beaune Center. The shower, like in the picture above, is honestly the tiniest shower I’ve ever used. Compared to the bathroom in Tuscany, this one is half the size. But hey, it’s all part of the adventure and building some character! No complaints at all.
Example of Tour Plan for Next Day
I think it’s really helpful to show at least one of the papers that was displayed for us. I took a quick picture of it each day, so we always knew when and where we needed to be.

The Hotel-Dieu was a charitable hospital which was run by the Catholic church. Today tours are given and you can use the audio if you wish.

This is a map of the Hotel-Dieu. It helped us navigate our way though the tour.
